A new year is upon us! As a small business owner, do you feel like the new year brings on a fresh set of struggles?
Wether it be struggling with where to begin your year, what to do, and how to kick off the new year in the right direction, here is a list I’ve compiled to set yourself up for a successful trajectory for 2023.
The last time the Eisley Images blog saw Sam and Ryan, they were newlyweds in Sturbridge! Imagine my delight when Ryan reached out to surprise his wife with a Legacy Session to document the arrival of their baby boy, Nolan. We took photos in Nolan’s sweet little nursery, documented real life moments for these new parents, and then took a walk through their neighborhood where the foliage was showing off! I firmly believe the fog was a paid actor lol
Chelsea and Scott’s Downcity Engagement Session started in their Federal Hill neighborhood with their French Bulldog Benedict. We made our way to Providence’s historic Downcity on Westminster St and ended our night together for some dinner at Xaco Taco!
Three generation family photo session on the beach in Newport, Rhode Island at golden hour. The included both sets of grandparents, siblings, and the grandchildren! We had a blast running around in the sand, climbing rocks and getting to know this sweet family.
When you’re turning thirty and celebrating decades of best friendship, you’ve gotta celebrate in a place important to you! Camille and Whitney chose Horseneck Beach. It’s a beach they come to with their summer reads, ice cold beverages and snacks to share.
Before you include it in your wedding day, ask yourself:
Is it something that people have been discriminated against or shamed for?
Does it hold sacred and ceremonial meaning?
Who would I be hurting?
Do I need it to have a joyful wedding day?
If you have uncertain feelings about your answers to these, there is a good chance you should probably leave it out of your wedding day. Better to be safe then accidentally offensive and inappropriate.
Your small business is, without a doubt, missing out on clients who aren’t feeling seen / supported / validated / included by you. It may not feel like you’re intentionally setting out to do that, but the fact of the matter is, your words are LOUD.
If you’d like to make easy, inclusive changes to your business, make 2022 the year. It genuinely will not disrupt your way of doing things. Commit to it. Be about it. Do better.
Destination elopement for two New England natives living in Los Angeles. This Palm Springs wedding has it all - Tina Turner, a rescue dog, alternative bride in a leather jacket, desert scenery, and burgers at In-N-Out dressed in their weddings best!
Without fail, these three particular items have been used at almost every single wedding Christy has photographed in the last twelve wedding seasons! We never want to be caught in a pickle while on a tight schedule. These items are often the heroes of the wedding day! Check out the TikTok we made about it!
Despite the uncertainty of the world and the humidity, we forged ahead safely! Masks on, separate cars, but a whole lotta laughs and catching up to be had. For me, that has to be the best part of any Legacy Session. Slowing life down and simply enjoying the moment :)
If you’re like me, you have so many moving parts to your business. That can get out of control when you have a bunch of different tools that you’re using to manage your clients.
Today, I am sharing my 7 favorite HoneyBook features that helped me get organized so I could work more efficiently, and productively.
Whitney and Sam held the most joyful and beautiful seaside intimate celebration in a relatives backyard nestled on the waters of Orleans, MA. The guests in attendance were their quarantined immediate families and their two best friends, Camille and Ryan. Can I tell you the best part of an intimate wedding? It’s not what it looks like. It what it feels like. It’s relaxed. Calm. Joyful.
Here is a on-going list of valuable resources for small business owners navigating the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic. I will be updating this list as more resources come to light!

Rhode Island engagement sessions don’t get better than this! Wickford Village is a historic and charming seaside town. We walked along the brick sidewalks down to the harbor and making frequent portrait stops along the way. Even though it was chilly, these two snuggled close look perfectly warm.
