A Springtime Maternity Session at Roger Williams Park in Providence, Rhode Island
“What is a legacy? It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see”
When choosing a name for this session, this little slice of goodness above from Hamilton kept seeping into my thoughts. Long ago when I first heard the full cast album while editing one night, it struck every chord in my body and made a little home deep in my heart. The spirit of this masterpiece has carried me through. I knew this was it…. The Eisley Couple Legacy Session.
Every day you walk through life together, you are planting seeds for the next day…. the next week… the next month… the next year…. the next generation. A Legacy Session is for our couples who are celebrating an anniversary, new life, firsts and lasts, and “just because” as we know time is sweet but fleeting. We want to hold on to these moments, these feelings and look back to see how far we’ve come.
We have the once-in-a-lifetime privilege of witnessing the start of our couples legacies on their wedding day. The portraits we create are the ones that will be cherished as heirlooms in your family for generations. To have the honor to photograph just one of their milestones is an honor, but to become their photographer for life? I get teary eyed just thinking about it.
If you’re not new around here, you know Mr. and Mrs. Foley’s faces very well! Last week marked their second Legacy Session with us. We’ve documented their wedding, their pregnancy announcement and now their maternity session. At the end of June they will be bringing their baby home to their new house and settling in with their pups :) We can’t wait to meet their baby.
Enjoy these sweet moments <3
Raise your hand if your family photo has ever been sabotaged by your child using only their weird fake smile 🙋♀️ You know the one.
One thing I hear time and time again from fellow parents (of babies, and of grown ones too) is they wish someone could snap their photo during the moments that feel the most real. The moments where the magic of all your people in one place together brings out the most authentic versions of yourselves. There’s a certain energy that comes out of each of us when we’re some place we want to be, with people we actually want to be with, while feeling beautiful in your own way.
