Raise your hand if your family photo has ever been sabotaged by your child using only their weird fake smile 🙋♀️ You know the one.
One thing I hear time and time again from fellow parents (of babies, and of grown ones too) is they wish someone could snap their photo during the moments that feel the most real. The moments where the magic of all your people in one place together brings out the most authentic versions of yourselves. There’s a certain energy that comes out of each of us when we’re some place we want to be, with people we actually want to be with, while feeling beautiful in your own way.
Think about our family session with me as a chance to slooooooow down. A chance to pause the hustle and bustle of life and freeze time in the way that only a photograph may accomplish. My hope for you is during our time together you will fully live out loud as your truest selves. Something tells me you’ll find that the photos you’ll cherish the most in your gallery look more like this….
When each person in your group feels connected and seen by the human taking the photos, they tend to shake off the nerves and lean into their sillier side with ease, and dare I say, willingness!
Here’s how I am able to deliver a gallery full of timeless photos that look and feel like your people
Connection - From the moment you find yourself on my website I hope you have an inkling of who I am, and what vibe I bring to the occasion. I try to be so authentically myself to make sure any future clients get a good gist of who will be showing up for their session! Every personal touch point after you inquire with me allows us to virtually get face-to-face so by the time I arrive for your session it’s like an old pal is coming to hang out - and I just so happen to have my camera with me. Before the first picture is taken, I lean into my personal superpower. With an internal vibe check, and my big feeling heart, I can tell who in the group needs a little extra connection to bring out their comfortability with me and the whole situation. This isn’t something they do everyday - but I do!
Comfortability - I mean this in the literal sense. Wear what feels good on you, and what makes you feel like your best self! The last thing I want is for you to be in your own head about how you look. I happily take on the role of your mirror once you’re in front of my camera. Make up smudge? Food in the teeth? I got you, babe!
Building Trust - As a mom I know how fickle our little (and big!) friends can be. One missed nap, or snacking opportunity can throw a wrench in the whole day! But, not with me. I wish I could hold your hands when I tell you this: your kid not listening, being wiggly or ‘too much’ is not a problem. Trust me to meet our friends where they are at. I can re-direct, wrangle, pivot, do a jig, bribe with lollipops (if that’s cool with you!), etc. We’re good. I am focused on them so you can be the chill, fun parent that I know you are. As for teens? I am a thirty-something teenage girl. I am fixing hair, showing them their photo on the back of my camera, and hyping them up without being a cringe millennial.
Prompts vs Poses - This is the real secret to delivering a gallery full of images that look and feel like your people. We gotta activate our silly and playful sides! Which comes easy when you’re with a photographer you’re comfortable with! Shout out to building trust + personal connections! Sitting in unnatural poses for your full session will leave you with smiles that start to feel fake/forced. If your group is hesitant about a photo session to begin with you will see the hesitation in their body language. With an Eisley Images Legacy Session we’re doing things like walking along the beach, throwing rocks, seeing who is tallest, sniffing flowers, whispering silly words to each other, thumb wars, and leaning into whimsy!
Now imagine you had a gallery wall in your home without those kind of yearbook photos… you know the ones. I can help with that! Now Offering School Year Sessions.
Let’s get a Legacy Session for you on the books!
