When you’re turning thirty and celebrating best friendship since those awkward middle school years, you’ve gotta celebrate in a place important to you! Camille and Whitney chose Horseneck Beach in Westport, MA. It’s a beach they come to with their summer reads, ice cold beverages and snacks to share.
For those of you who are new here, I photographed Whitney and Sam’s wedding back in August of 2020 in a gorgeous waterside Cape home. For over the years they’ve been in the Eisley Community, I’ve gotten to know Camille too. She’s been a part of their relationship since the very beginning! One fateful bus ride to D.C as high schoolers. At their wedding I totally fell in love with the friendship Camille and Whitney share. I’m 99.9% sure they are living out a friendship that you would normally only see in a sitcom - and it’s the best.
This session embodied the spirit of Legacy Sessions. Celebrating who you are, where you are at, and who you are with.
Camille + Whitney brought margaritas, ice cream, their favorite reads, beach chairs, and a blanket. Most of this session was simply photographing them in their natural beach day habitat. We photographed until the sun went down.
After we all geeked over the final gallery, I absolutely HAD to share these to social media. For this particular set of photos I tagged in our shared North Star author, Glennon Doyle. AND SHE ACKNOWLEDGED US. Imagine it. Our souls collectively leaving our bodies and hovering above for what felt like a decade. Glennon knows about these god damn cheetahs and their best friendship they hold so fiercely to their hearts. Talk about session goals!

Still geeking out over Glennon liking these photos on Twitter!
… and then she RESPONDED to Whitney?! We are collectively deceased.
Raise your hand if your family photo has ever been sabotaged by your child using only their weird fake smile 🙋♀️ You know the one.
One thing I hear time and time again from fellow parents (of babies, and of grown ones too) is they wish someone could snap their photo during the moments that feel the most real. The moments where the magic of all your people in one place together brings out the most authentic versions of yourselves. There’s a certain energy that comes out of each of us when we’re some place we want to be, with people we actually want to be with, while feeling beautiful in your own way.
