A Legacy Session One Year In the Making
When MacKenzie and Nico married in 2019, they knew a Legacy Session was on their list of ways to celebrate their one year wedding anniversary. We looked forward to it all year! Genuinely. All year!
But, then came along my cancer recovery, sprinkled in with life on their end, lockdowns, quarantines, and so much more. We postponed until November. I know it wasn’t June in New England (which is truly a beauty to behold), but I think I can speak for all three of us when we say we were not imagining a global pandemic would be in our midst. That wasn’t even the strangest part of the day thought! It was HOT and HUMID on the day of their session. IN NOVEMBER!!! It was all just comical.
Despite the uncertainty of the world and the humidity, we forged ahead safely! Masks on, separate cars, but a whole lotta laughs and catching up to be had. For me, that has to be the best part of any Legacy Session. Slowing life down and simply enjoying the moment :)
In a time where SO much has changed in a short amount of time there are some things that don’t change. Relationships that you choose to nurture are still there. When we were walking around the windy Fort Adams, it felt like it was JUST YESTERDAY the three of us were together with my camera in hand. We always reminisce about their winter wonderland elopement, when we first met at a CHIVE event at the Hard Rock Cafe in Foxboro, and their gorgeous wedding day in Bedford. However…. we got to celebrate TWO different things this time around! Their one year wedding anniversary AND Biden winning the Presidential Election! It felt like we could all breathe. It felt like the first day where we knew happiness and joy was on the horizon. I will always remember being able to celebrate that day with people I adore the heck out of.
I am getting carried away in memories now :) On to the photos!
MacKenzie and Nico - I freakin’ adore you. Thank you for allowing me to document all your milestones thus far :’)
