A springtime engagement session in historic Charlestown, MA
We had been looking forward to this session ever since we officially welcomed Whitney & Sam into the Eisley Couple Community. Her first email to us started off with a casual “full disclosure, I've followed you on Instagram for years because I love love and your posts always make me smile.” Whitney continued her email by sharing with us their origin story. What we read next made us almost spit out our morning coffee from laughing and sealed their fate as becoming two people we had to get to know better.
From that point on, it was clear that we wanted to be the photographers to photograph this next chapter in their love story. Their origin story starts off with a moment that made me almost spit my morning coffee out from laughing.
Whitney & Sam are two of the most delightful people to walk around their neighborhood with. The historic Bunker Hill neighborhood of Charlestown, MA was a gorgeous backdrop of scenery for their engagement session. Once you start scrolling through these photos you’ll see that our time was spent laughing, reminiscing about my sister & brother-in-law’s wedding (he’s Whitney’s cousin!), and trying to tame the winds of the harbor - not an easy feat!
Not pictured: the bird that ever-so-kindly left a mess on Sam’s shoulder, the concerned police officer who came to check on my wellness when she saw me hunched over, laying on the ground while trying to take close details of Whitney’s stunning ring, and the absurd amount of puppies taking an evening stroll. My only regret is that we didn’t close the night out by hearing the cannons go off on Old Ironsides at sunset. I’ll have to put that on the Gagnon Family to-do list this summer!
(Fun fact: My Great Grampy worked at the Charlestown Naval Shipyard until his retirement. This was my first time visiting and I loved it!)
