Apple Picking with Emerson Eisley & Co. | Smolak Farms, North Andover, MA

As a photographer and a mom, the one staple of this season I've been looking forward to is adventuring on farm. Wether it be pumpkin patching or apple picking, I just want portraits of our blazing blonde beauty enjoying all of it with us.

Folks, can you imagine my excitement when we show up with my mother-in-law only to find a sleeping angel in the back seat? Totally overjoyed..................... not! However, first rule of parenting: don't wake the sleeping toddler when they desperately need a nap. So, we let her catch some Z's while we waited for the rest of our family to arrive. Not to mention this was the one time we didn't bring our ergo/our wagon/our stroller/anything that would have helped lug our deadweight around. This is where Dad comes in!

Once she woke up she was in it to win it. Every apple was a winner and she needed to take all of them home. When she came across a rotting apple she would make a Lucy van Pelt (you know, from Peanuts? "I've been kissed by a dog! Yuck!") face and chuck it. She might have even ended up in a tree and it was only slightly terrifying to watch.

I turned my back for one second and next thing I knew Emmy was climbing a tree. Talk about a heart attack! She loved every second of being in that tree and was distraught when we told her it was time to come down. Luckily there were a million more apples for her to find to get her mind off it.

The face she made when she rolled her apple over and saw that it was rotting... UNIMPRESSED hahaha "Oh.. it's rotted."

After the apple bags were flowing over, we found this little pond behind Smolak Farms' wedding tent. Emmy kept looking for turkey's in the trees! I am absolutely dying to shoot a wedding here. This property is gorgeous.

10/10 would recommend Smolak Farms to everyone. My mom brain packed only dead batteries and my camera died just after we walked away from the pond. After this we went on the hay ride, explored the kid area and had a few treats. Another day full of new memories made in the books :) As me and Emmy say every night before bed "thanks for sharing a wonderful day"
